FORCE UPDATE: LASTEST ACQUISITIONS; FORCE LOSE FIRST ROAD GAME IN BRADFORD

September 28, 2017

The Force have been working diligently to add to a roster that’s had to start the season a little shorthanded, but things are beginning to add up to a strong core group moving forward.

The Force have acquired 17 year old Ohio forward Kinsley Trivisonno from the New Tecumseth Civics on loan for this season, and 18 year old Orangeville native Kyle Lewis from the North York Renegade.

Other recent signings include 17 year old defensemen Joseph Heidenreich of Kitchener and Sean Caruso of Acton, 20 year old Blake Ward of Orangeville, and 20 year old forward Justin Bryenton of Guelph.

Force at Bradford Rattlers – Bradford, ON,  September 24, 2017

After suffering a lopsided loss in our inaugural on September 17 to Meaford, the team rebounded with a much better effort against perennial contender Bradford Rattlers last Sunday, the 24th, losing 6-2 in a game that could have been much closer.

Still, with Andrew Ferlatte and Kolton Maguire out with suspension from game 1, and a few other key players unavailable, the team played a disciplined conservative game and took advantage of several counter-attacks to earn some quality scoring chances.  Despite being outshot 57-34, goalies for both teams had to be sharp on numerous occasions.  The Force’s Goaltender Kody Kushniruk was particularly outstanding, making several great saves, despite the loss.

Co-Captain and local product Beau Janssen scored the first goal in team history at 8:08 of the 2nd period, and assisted on our 2nd goal later in the period, scored by NY native, Tommy Gramando.

Busy week coming up!

This Sunday, October 1st, the Force welcome current North Division leader to the Sportsplex – the New Tecumseth Civics, who are 4 and 0 to start the season.  Sunday game time as always is 3pm.

Later this week, in our first of five mid-week games this season, the Force will host perennial contenders, the Bradford Rattlers at 8pm next Thursday, October 5, which begins a string of 3 games in 4 nights.  The Force travel the next night to Gravenhurst to play an original 7 team, the South Muskoka Shield, before returning home to the Sportsplex to play the Ville Marie Pirates on Sunday, October 8 at 3pm.
