The Fergus Force will be working with charitable organizations in the community and beyond, and we are pleased to announce our support of the Autism Aspergers Friendship Society of Calgary, Alberta! Yes, Calgary, Alberta!
We were contacted by Scott Godfrey, Program Coordinator for this wonderful organization, seeking donations relating to hockey, particularly jerseys!
Considering our uniforms won’t be ready until the season starts, they gladly accepted my offer for jerseys from my previous GMHL team, the Toronto Canada Moose! They loved the uniforms and gladly accepted!
This is just the start of our commitment to contribute to our community in a variety of different ways, and even though this an Alberta based organization, we’ll be reaching out to the local chapters as well, not to mention our intention to help so many other worthy causes!
Many local organizations will be given the opportunity to raise funds through the Fergus Force 50/50 draws, Puck Toss’, and many other events on game days, while our players and staff will also be ready to help where and when we can in and around the community with special fundraising efforts away from the rink!
It goes without saying that most of us would know families affected by Autism, and it is one of many ailments that could really use a cure! In the meantime, let’s all support the worthwhile efforts of those who’ve dedicated their lives to eradicating this and many other afflictions!
If you are part of a local organization in need of support, please contact the Force via email at ‘firstname.lastname@example.org’, and we’d be pleased to discuss an opportunity to help!
